Fit For Service

But one thing I do. Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3: 13 – 14 NIV

When everything is said and done, there is only one goal for which to strive, one flag to which we make our drives—Heaven. Rich Warren tells us that life has purpose when we seek to live in Christ. Knowing our goals moves us forward. We no longer drift on the sea like wood from a shipwreck. God has salvaged us, reformed us, and fitted us for His good pleasure.

He has trained us for life’s race. He has conditioned us to meet the obstacles that are ahead. He not only sends us forward, but he carries us when our bodies cannot bear the burden. With such a guide, how can we fail?
